Information about Sarah

I have been childminding since 1994. I have 3 children of my own and care for children of all ages in the beautiful village of Little Gaddesden.

As my business expanded, I took on an assistant, Ali, in 2008 to help out and have consequently been able to offer a more flexible service for parents. Together we achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating in July 2010. My husband, Mark, joined the team in Sept 2010 after the waiting list kept getting longer! In 2016 Ali sadly left our setting and we hired Rachelle, who has been a great addition to our team.

Qualifications

Currently studying for a degree in Early Years Foundation Stage (Open University), I have also completed courses in all the following: Paediatric First Aid, food hygiene and childminder food safety, Diversity, Home-based childcare, safeguarding children, diversity in the workplace, mind your business, challenging behaviour, EYFS Next Steps, Assessment for Planning 0-5yrs and more!

Mark's background

Mark worked in London as a logistics manager, he then found a job closer to home, but this job came to an end and as my waiting list grew it became an obvious choice that he could help me with the business. He brings a male perspective to the team, which is greatly appreciated with sports play!! He has also enabled us to cater for collections which would not have been feasible before, enabling Ali and I to provide continuity of care to children as they have moved schools. He also has been CRB checked and completed his paediatric first aid, safeguarding and is currently studying for his Level 3 in Childcare.



My Children

My children are somewhat older now and 2 are at university and my eldest now lives in London. Their needs are very different to that of a younger family and because of this I am able to provide a more flexible setting that still works for others as well as for my own family.
